Spreads and trading costs
Understand the costs that can affect a trade. Review the charges for your account and instrument before placing an order.
The spread
The spread is the difference between the buying and selling prices. It is one part of the cost of opening and closing a position.
Spreads can change with market conditions. Check the prices shown in your trading platform when deciding whether to place an order.
Commission
An account may charge commission separately from the spread. Check whether the charge applies when opening, closing, or both, and how it is calculated for the size of your trade.
Overnight financing
Holding a position overnight may create a financing charge or credit. The calculation and rollover schedule depend on the instrument and account terms. Ask the team for the rate, unit and applicable days before holding a position overnight.
Other charges to review
Check the conditions for currency conversion, deposits, withdrawals and any account charges. Ask support to explain a charge before you proceed. A visible payment option does not mean a transfer is free.
